Here is a sixth (!) update to the BING APPS chapter for "Windows 8.1 Book."
In this version, I've stopped differentiating between what I was calling "the Bing content apps"—Bing Finance, Food & Drink, Health & Fitness, News, Sports and Travel—and Bing Maps because they actually all share much commonality. So they're just Bing apps now, and Bing Maps will be placed in the center of the chapter and not appended to the end.
I'm losing track of which sections happened when, but I almost finished the Health & Fitness section.
What's left: Two sub-sections, both of which (eTrade/brokerage integration in Bing Finance and Microsoft HealthVault integration in Health & Fitness) are related to deeply private personal information, and Bing Maps, which I've started to flesh out. So I'm thinking one more update to this suddenly long chapter and that will be that.
I'll probably be writing up something about these apps for the SuperSite this week, by the way. In writing about them for the book I've come to really appreciate how good they are, and where I once thought this would be a throwaway chapter of sorts, I now think of it as much more important, since these apps are so excellent and such a huge win for any Windows 8.1 user.
More soon. Feedback is always appreciated.
Remember, you can download the latest version of this and other chapters, and the full book in progress, from the download page you have hopefully already bookmarked. If you haven't yet paid for the book, please get a copy of the book today.
